This new campaign seeks to recruit men in the pursuit of equality. HeForShe is a solidarity movement for gender equality that brings together one half of humanity in support of the other of humanity, for the entirety of humanity.
Introduction
Launching the HeForShe campaign, UN Women Goodwill Ambassador Emma Watson talked about gender equality for both men and women, and called out for boys and men to get involved. In her speech she said that fighting for women's rights should not be seen as man-hating, and men and women should feel free to be sensitive and strong, and we should stop defining ourselves by what we are but who we are.
As a men's health centre we agree that men should respect women and fight for women’s equality, not because they are women but because they deserve it as human beings. Gender equality requires the active contribution and input from both women and men and is the responsibility of all individuals and of the society as whole.
